Dorothy Torin VINGE

July 24, 1928 – July 7, 2018

Dorothy passed away peacefully on the morning of July 7, 2018 at Rocky Mountain Village with family at her side, only 3 weeks after her husband of 65 years passed away.

She was predeceased by her husband Al, parents Knut and Christine Langrud, and sister Pauline.
She will be sadly missed by her sons: David (Cheryl), Don (Regina), and Barry; grandchildren Christine, Derek, Karl, Dana and Lisa; great grandchildren Gerard, Thea, Leo, and Annika; brother Tom (Mary) Langrud; favourite niece Leslie; nephews Vic, Mark, Eric and Kurt; brothers-in-law Joe (Sheila), Mark (Bonnie), and sister-in-law Vangie (Brault) as well as several Vinge nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her love of family and her fantastic culinary skills, especially her flapper pie. One of the positions Dorothy enjoyed and excelled at was as a home care worker in North Vancouver.

She also assisted her husband Al at some of the many jobs he had, her speciality being organization and attention to detail, even doing the evening shift at the Fernie International Hostel currently called the Raging Elk Hostel
Memorial and interment service to be held at a later date for immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ladies Auxiliary of Rocky Mountain Village Society, Christ Church Anglican and/or Knox United church in Fernie.
