Obituary for Evelyn Aniela Garbowski
GARBOWSKI (JARCZOW), EVELYN ANIELA
JULY 12, 1928 – DECEMBER 5, 2018
With heavy hearts, we are sad to inform you of the passing of Evelyn Aniela Garbowski. She was born July 12, 1928 in southern Poland and arrived in Canada in 1929 in Winnipeg, Manitoba with her family.
She is predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. In 1954 she married Bronislaw Garbowski in Sudbury. Bronislaw died in 1977. They had four sons, Christopher (Monica), Eugene, Edward and Julian (Alana). She was a grandmother and great grandmother. On May 14 she was struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk by a driver who witnesses say was texting. Evelyn was hospitalized and did not recover from her injuries. On December 5 at 9:20 pm she passed away. She will be sorely missed by her sons and relatives as well as her friends. She will also be missed by the community of Marysville, where she was famous for her gardens which were enjoyed by all.
Donations can be sent to MADD, in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of life will take place in the spring.
