Obituary for Maeve Agnes Keogh Hayward (nee McCormack)

July 18, 1926 – February 6, 2018It is with much sadness that the family announce the passing of our mother Maeve Hayward on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 91 years of age.
Maeve immigrated to Canada from Dublin Ireland in 1957 with her husband Kevin McCormack. The family moved numerous times throughout northern BC and Alberta before settling in Cranbrook in 1971. Maeve was remarried to Freebon Kenneth Hayward in 1984.
Left to mourn are her eight children: James (Judith), Kevin (Jill), Mike (Patti), Patrick (Debbie), Maeve (Fred), Maureen, Sean (Arlene) and Sheila, sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A celebration of Maeve’s life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Lenz for his guidance and compassion, the ER and third floor nurses at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook and all the care aides at Joseph Creek Village over the last ten plus years.
Those wishing to remember Maeve are asked to do a random act of kindness for someone.
