Obituary of Alexander “George” ARNOLD
Alexander “George” ARNOLD
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander “George” Arnold, who passed away from natural causes at Rocky Mountain Village in Fernie, BC. George was seventy-three years old and had been a resident of the Village for the past three years.
George was born on March 29, 1952, in High River, Alberta, and was proudly named after both of his grandfathers, who had passed the year before his birth.
Throughout his life, George was known for his love of music and his generous, easygoing nature. He brought joy to many as the owner and DJ of Rockin’ Double A, entertaining at community dances and events. George also worked for many years at the sawmill in Elko, BC, where he was a dedicated and well-respected member of the crew.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Marian Arnold (Moncrieff); siblings: Sheila Snider, Elizabeth (Betty) Wathen, and Michael “Mike” Arnold; and his cousin and best friend, Davy Moncrieff, with whom he now shares eternal peace.
George is lovingly remembered by his brother, Gordon Douglas “Doug” Arnold of Galloway, BC; sister, Karen Arnold of Orillia, Ontario; and numerous extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his warm presence, sense of humor, and kind heart.
