Allan Darryl Block

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Darryl Block. He passed away on February 27th 2026 at 59 years of age in Cranbrook, BC surrounded by those he loved.

Allan was born on July 6th, 1966 in Lethbridge, AB to Konstantin (Kusty) and Edith. Shortly after his birth, he moved to Cranbrook, BC with his parents and his brother, Barry. Allan remained in Cranbrook building lasting friendships and strong connections to the community. He was a devoted father, brother, son, and friend who will be remembered for his kindness, humour, work ethic, strong will, generosity, and loyalty to those closest to him.

Allan had a deep love for the outdoors, he spent much of his time fishing on a quiet lake, or camping deep in the woods. He also enjoyed golfing and hiking with friends and family. Allan loved to watch hockey and was a dedicated Edmonton Oilers fan. He went on many trips with his children to watch and cheer on their team. Allan had many other hobbies such as gardening, cooking, and travelling.

Allan is survived by his children Brett and Ally (Cale), and his parents Edith and Kusty. He was predeceased by his brother Barry.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and The F.W. Green Home for all of their dedicated care and compassion. We would also like to express our extreme gratitude to anyone who offered their help or kept us in their thoughts during this difficult time. The amount of support we have received has been a true testament to the positive affect Allan had on his community.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Cranbrook Golf Club on Sunday April 12th from 1-4pm, anyone is welcome to attend. If you have any photos of Allan that you would like to share, please send them to [email protected].
