Obituary of Benjamin Palmer
Benjamin Palmer
Ben left us at the age of 90, following many cherished days of visiting and reminiscing with family and good friends.
After 73 years of marriage his memory will forever live on in the heart of his wife Joyce Edith, and their 6 children
Wendy Gejdos (Ron), Vivian Palmer, Valerie Smolik (Jon), Mike Palmer (Anita), Bev Nicol (Paul), Greg Palmer (Pam), many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.
Ben was predeceased by his sons Benjamin George and David Terrence (Terry), parents Benjamin and Anne Palmer, brothers Joey, Herb Palmer (Georgina) and sisters Lorraine Baher (Bryan) & Bettie Nohels (Vince).
Ben’s favourite pastimes included gardening, hunting, fishing, getting firewood, and he had a real passion for spending time with family at their cabin which he and a good friend started building in 1955. Ben also enjoyed tinkering and could frequently be found in his shop working on someone’s boat motor or chain saw or just enjoying a cold beer on a hot day with friends and family.
Ben’s large immediate family is now over 70 people and he also has numerous nieces and nephews.
While we mourn his loss we are committed to honouring his memory with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
The Palmer family would like to thank Dr. Lori Gadsden, the nurses, caregivers, staff and friends at the Rocky Mountain Village.
