It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carmela Briuolo, who passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025

Born in Ruvo del Monte, Italy on December 24,1929, Carmela immigrated to Canada in 1955 settling in Cranbrook where she built a beautiful life with her husband Rocco and together they raised three wonderful children.

For many years Carmela worked hard cleaning homes and motels, coming home to pick vegetables from the garden ready for canning or freezing.  In her spare time, she loved knitting colorful dish cloths to give away to family and friends. She always looked forward to getting together with her friends for lunch or coffee.

Carmela was a devoted Nonna to her three grandchildren who brought her endless joy and love. Her love for family was unwavering, she was a source of comfort and strength.

Carmela always ensured a warm home, with no shortage of good Italian cooking. She was always a gracious host, never letting anyone go hungry.  With heartfelt greetings, a big heart, and a fresh plate of your favorite dish, you knew you were at Nonna’s

Carmela will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, love of family and friends, her devotion to her church, her strong work ethic and the warmth she brought to every room.

Carmela was predeceased by her husband, Rocco, of 64 years, her brother Guiseppe and sister Maria Rosa.

She leaves to mourn her three children, John (Katie), Tina (Kevin) and Philomena (Herman), her three grandchildren Kevin (Jessica), Ashley and David (Tegan).

Other loving family include her brothers Vince and Armando (Anna), brother-in-law Mike, sisters-in-law, Antonietta, Maria (Mike) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will take place On Thursday June 26, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at McPherson Funeral Home In Cranbrook, British Columbia.

A Funeral Mass for Carmela will be held on Thursday June 26, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Christ the Servant Parish in Cranbrook, British Columbia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmela’s name can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation
