It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Nana, Catherine Eileen McGillivray, on August 6th, 2023. She peacefully passed away with her 3 children, Jennifer (Asselin), Craig (Asselin) and Shawna (McQuarrie, nee Asselin) by her side, with nothing but love in all their hearts. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends spread out across Canada. She was an incredible Nana to Rayelin (Jennifer), Noel and Zoe (Craig and Kristen), Ayda and Kalem (Shawna and Mark) and has left many beautiful memories with them. She loved them fiercely and they were her greatest joy. Catherine was so brave and fought a long, hard battle with her health.

Catherine leaves behind many nieces and nephews, sisters Maureen Magee, Patricia Coyle (Brian), Carolyn Odger (Darryl), and Mary Anne Hlusko (Joe), her brother Tim McGillivray (Mary), and her dearest friends that she connected with weekly via zoom which was a highlight for her. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, and dear brother David Magee (Carol).

We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. S. Forrest; Dr. M. Vaid; the nurses, doctors, food service and cleaning staff at the Elk Valley Hospital and the East Kootenay Regional Hospital ICU.

Your soul lives on in every sunrise and sunset, the wind in the trees and in our hearts. You are Loved.
