Obituary of Claude Gosling
Claude Gosling
Although Claude quit formal school to begin making his way on his own at the age of 15, Claude was an incredibly talented artist, gardener, carpenter, and farrower (caring for baby pigs in a hog operation). He was also a great outdoorsman with fishing at the top of his list.
Claude and his beloved wife, Gwen, accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in their 40s and never looked back. They remained fiercely faithful through all their great days and their tribulations.
They moved to Cranbrook from the coast and spent their “retirement” caring for drug-addicted foster babies. Their last years were happy, contented ones, together with their cat on the hill on Heartland Rd in Cranbrook.
Claude is survived by his children: Larry Hatheway, Bonnie Taks (Ron), Steve Hatheway (Joyce), Paul Hatheway, Vicki Nikula (Scott). His sister Gloria Bradley and brother John McIntosh.
He is predeceased by his sweetheart, Gwen Gosling, and his twin brother, Clyde Gosling.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, at 10:00 am at McPherson Funeral Services, 2200 2nd St. S. Cranbrook, BC.
