Colin was born and raised in Cranbrook and spent most of his life here. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family after a short battle with cancer on the 25th of August 2025. He is survived by his wife Jenny Stevely, stepson Ethan (Brittany) Broadhead, grandchildren Bowen and Everett Broadhead, daughter Hailey Poole, stepson Jordan Broadhead, stepson Dawson Broadhead, son Deklin Stevely, son Walker Stevely.  His father Ron (Cathy) Stevely, his mother Judy Parkin (Robert Matheson), his sister Kelly Lynne Stevely, his brother Grant Stevely, in-laws Roger and Elin Walker, and in-laws Joanne and Rick Frank. Colin is also survived by many brother-in laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents Doug and Maggie (Gray) Stevely, grandparents Kelly Parkin, Betty (Parkin) and Neil Evans, as well as many other family members and relatives.

Colin had great memories of growing up here and spending time with both sets of grandparents and cousins.  On April 11th 1995 he welcomed his daughter Hailey.  He lived in Fort McMurray for about 10 years and that is where he became a Red Seal Welder.  In December of 2009 Colin met the love of his life, Jenny in Cranbrook.  He then moved back home to Cranbrook and they have been together ever since. They blended their families and over the years they also welcomed two sons to the world Deklin and Walker.  They built a beautiful life and family together.  Colin loved being a grandpa.  He worked at SMS and Fording River as a welder.  The past couple of years he worked in town for Linde Canada.  This allowed him to be at home with his family which was very important to him.  Colin had a great connection and friendships that he made over the years working in these places.  Colin also found his true calling and passion for coaching baseball and was very involved in the baseball community.  He loved to coach and mentor the kids over the past few years.

Colin will be loved and missed by so many.  If you were lucky enough to know Colin, you knew he was loyal, fair, kind, and always would be there for you if you needed him.  He was an amazing man.  His family would like to thank the Home Health team for all their kind compassionate support and all the doctors that were involved in his care.

A Celebration of Colin’s Life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, September 6th, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – 2210 2nd Street North Cranbrook, BC. V1C 5H4.
