Obituary of Dennis Stephen Paul Driscoll & Evelyn Marlene Driscoll

Dennis Stephen Paul Driscoll & Evelyn Marlene Driscoll (Scott)

With profound sadness, we share the closing chapter of a beautiful love story—the story of Dennis and Marlene Driscoll.

Dennis passed away peacefully at home on November 26, surrounded by his greatest loves: Marlene, Geordie, Anna, and their dog, Lucy, to the soft sounds of music and the gentle crackling of the fire. Marlene joined him on February 12, the longest time they had ever spent apart in their nearly 49 years together in TaTa Creek.

They will be deeply missed by their children, Geordie (Jen) and Anna (Jeff), and their grandchildren, Linden, Lola, Georges, and Gabrielle. Dennis and Marlene also opened their hearts and home to their niece, Claire Canning, who spent countless days with them at TaTa Creek—a bond that carried beautifully into her adult life. Their nephew, Chris Andrews, shared a connection with them that grew far beyond that of aunt and uncle. Dennis and Marlene warmly embraced each new addition to the family, welcoming spouses, grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews with open arms, always eager to celebrate milestones and accomplishments. Together with Carol (Marlene’s sister) and her partner, Paul, along with many dear friends, they created a welcoming place where family gathered, laughter echoed, music filled the air, and lasting memories were made—an ever-growing circle of love.

Dennis is survived by his brothers, Mike (Nancy) and Joe (Betty), and his sisters, Anne (Darrell) and Margaret (Paul), who were not only his siblings but his lifelong friends and companions. Whether near or far, they remained closely connected—sharing laughter, stories, and a mutual love of music and art that was so much a part of Dennis and Marlene’s world. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Frances, and his sister, Susan. His mother, Frances, and his sister, Susan, held a special place in his heart.

Marlene is survived by her sisters, Carol (Paul) and Laurie (Rob), and her brothers, Ken (Deanna) and Roy (Michelle), who were her dearest friends as well as her siblings. No matter the distance, they shared in one another’s lives, celebrating family, creativity, the healing arts, gardening, and the beauty that Marlene and Dennis so naturally gathered around them. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who will carry her warmth and spirit forward. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Beverley and Marjorie.

A celebration of life will be announced in the spring, when we will gather to honor and celebrate these two remarkable people whose love story continues beyond our sight. All will be welcome; their circle was wide and surrounded by wonderful friends, neighbours, and colleagues.
