Obituary of Dennise Lorraine Shingar

Dennise Lorraine Shingar

Dennise moved to Cranbrook from St. Boniface, Manitoba. She went to school in Cranbrook and was in the Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band. After Graduating from Mount Baker high school she worked at the Royal Bank and later at the Big Scoop. She enjoyed going to the stock car races at Echo Field Raceway and bowling. She was in a bowling league at Juniper Lanes and won many trophies. She was also quite accomplished at playing the piano, she was at a grade 8 level. She liked hockey, and her favourite team was the Edmonton Oilers. She liked doing crafts (macrame and pottery). Her homemade bread and cinnamon buns were second to none. She liked flowers and plants, and there was always something growing in the house or outside. Mom also loved spending time with her cat Blossom, who offered much comfort at home. She did hot have an easy life but her family, faith, and Lord were very important to her. She loved being with her family, you could visit for hours and talk about anything. She always had a wise word to pass on. Dennise was very independent and liked to do things her own way. She will be sadly missed, but in our thoughts always.

Denise was predeceased by her parents George and Wilhelmina, husband Harvey Shingar, nephew Jason Hunter, son Alvin Shingar, grandson Jason Currie, and son-in-law Steven Beamish.

She is survived by Cathy Currie (Ken), Terry Shingar (Debbie), Melvin Shingar, Harvey Shingar Jr., Barry Shingar (Dayle), Susan Beamish, Karen Umpherville (Lloyd), Jonathan Shingar (Shawnna Lee), grandchildren Shawn, Sheena, Chelsea, Chayce, Amanda, Dana, Nicko, Austin, Josh, Catherine, Natalie, Kaitlin, and Brady, great grandchildren Hudson, Lilith, Khloe, Declan, Azalea Rae, and Koda Quinn.
