He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Lily and their three children Gerald, Evelyn and Willie and their families; his brother Siegfried and family.

After immigrating to Canada in 1958, Willi worked as a brick/block/stone Mason throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan before settling in BC in 1969.  Kappler Masonry was well known throughout Cranbrook and the East Kootenays.

Willi loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hiking, working in the yard and exploring “just here once”.  He was a loving and supportive husband, Dad and Opa.

Our family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. McIver.  Also, Jessica and the palliative team and Home Care for the excellent care and support he received.

As per his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
