Geoffrey WARDLE

Geoff fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer this last year. On Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at the age of 66, he passed peacefully from the arms of his beloved wife Karin into Jesus’ embrace.

He was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 7th, 1958, and spent his early life in Ontario and New Brunswick. Geoff graduated from UNB with an Electrical Engineering degree and went on to earn a Master’s degree from Carleton University, also in Electrical Engineering. He raised his family with Karin in Calgary, Alberta, before settling in Fernie, BC upon their retirement six years ago. Geoff was a long-standing sponsor of a number of children through World Vision. He was a devoted Christian and a skilled fly fisherman, who also dedicated his time to tying flies by hand.

Geoff will always be remembered for his sharp wit, his passion for classic rock and playing the guitar, and his memorable vacations with his wife Karin. He leaves behind his three loving children: his son, Ian, and his daughters, Janice and Valerie. Geoff was a devoted son to his parents, Alan and June (predeceased), and a cherished sibling to his older brother, Peter.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour in the chapel at Cherished Memories. The graveside service will be a private ceremony for family and invite only. A reception will follow to honour and remember his life.

We would like to express our gratitude to Geoff’s wonderful circle of friends, to Mountainside Community Church, and to Cherished Memories Funeral Services for their support during this difficult time.

Geoff will be most remembered for his kind heart, his great love for his family and friends, his generosity and his enduring sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
