Giovanni “John” Pesce, a spirited adventurer and devoted family man, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Born in 1936 in Trecchina, Italy, John’s early life was marked by both hardship and resilience. After the loss of his father at a young age and a challenging stint in an orphanage, he carried a zest for life that would define his journey.

In 1956, John moved to Canada, where he embraced his new home with open arms. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Teresina, with whom he shared an extraordinary 65-year marriage built on unwavering love and commitment. Together, they nurtured a warm family, exemplifying what it means to care unconditionally for one another.

John approached his final days with a peaceful readiness, confident that he had experienced a life rich in adventure, love, and cherished moments. He is survived by his wife Teresina, children; Elio (Lorna), Domencio (Lori), grandchildren; Melissa (Daven), Giovanni, Michael (Geneva), Matthew and three beautiful great-granddaughters; Quinn, Mila, Sophie and many extended relatives, all of whom will forever treasure his lessons of living boldly and loving deeply.

Giovanni “John” Pesce will be remembered as a kind, generous, and spirited soul who enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. His memory lives on in the laughter, stories, and the enduring warmth of a life well-lived.

A Funeral Mass will be held for John on Monday February 10, 2025 at 1:00pm at Christ the Servant Parish in Cranbrook, British Columbia. Following the Mass John will be entombed in the Mausoleum at Westlawn Cemetery.
