Ida Alice Gerbrandt
Ida was born near Coronach Saskatchewan to Daniel and Nettie Maier on May 5, 1929. She was the oldest of three daughters, with a younger brother, Willie. Ida went to school in Coronach and then attended Briercrest Bible Institute after which she moved to Regina. In Regina, she met Richard Gerbrandt at the Alliance Church and were married. They then had three boys, Wayne, Les and Brian. They moved to Calgary in 1960 and then Cranbrook in 1967.
Ida enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening and loved flowers. She was very dedicated to her family and to her faith in God.
Ida was predeceased by her son Brian, and sisters Ella Lewis and Adella Pilling and most recently her husband of 68 years, Dick.
Ida is survived by her son, Wayne (Brenda), Les, and daughter-in-law, Susan, Grandchildren Laurena (Jas), Brandon and Anika
Thank you to all the staff at Joseph’s Creek Care Village for their kindness and care, making Ida comfortable during her last two years.
There will be a graveside service on June 10th at 11 am at Westlawn Cemetery followed by a luncheon at McPherson Funeral Home,
