Irma Sacino

Irma was born in San Leonardo, Ortona, Italy, on October 4, 1932. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 and settled in Trail, B.C.

She married her first husband, John Tesan, and together they raised three children. Sadly, John passed in 1975. After being widowed, Irma met Vince Sacino; they later married and made their home in Cranbrook.

Irma loved her family deeply and made many trips on the Greyhound bus to visit them. We all looked forward to her delicious meatballs and sauce. She was a talented baker, known for her beautiful pastries and the stunning platters she prepared for each of her granddaughters’ weddings. Crocheting was her favorite pastime—she lovingly created intricate tablecloths, doilies, afghans, and slippers for her family and friends.

Irma was predeceased by her son Lino in 2022.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vince Sacino; daughters Malou(Gerry) Mikalishen and Bonny(Paddy) Bell; and grandchildren Jason, Tanya, Staci, Jamey, Corey, Angie, Justin, Kailee, and Danielle. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass for Irma will take place Tuesday May 27, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cranbrook. Entombment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
