Joe VAROSI

Joe Varosi passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022 in Fernie. He was born on June 3, 1930 in Romania to Jozsef and Enci.

Joe was predeceased by his son, Joe Junior, in 2011. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Betty); daughter Shelley and son-in-law Arlin; grandchildren Jennifer and Brittany; and great grandchildren Carter, McKinley, Kylie, and Kenzie. He will be missed by everyone.

Joe served three years in the army during the Hungarian Revolution. In 1957 he moved to Canada where he married Elizabeth (Betty) and had two children, Joey and Shelly. He worked for 35 years at the local sawmill before his retirement. Joe enjoyed fishing hunting and making sausage, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and took great pride in his 65-year marriage with Elizabeth (Betty).

The Varosi, Hanninen, and Hayes families would like to thank Dr. Stimson, the staff at the Elk Valley Hospital and Father David for being so attentive, thoughtful, and kind during this difficult time.
