Obituary of Larry Edward Tanner
Larry Edward Tanner
It is with great sadness that the family of Larry Edward Tanner announce his passing at the age of 77, at his home in Kimberley, BC. Larry lived in Yahk, Lister, Cranbrook and Wardner, making lasting impact on those who knew him.
In 1972 after meeting Gail, they moved to Kimberley, where he became a familiar and hardworking figure in the area. Larry and Gail married on May 12, 1977. Together, they blended their lives and family, and Larry embraced his role as a father to her three children: Kevin, Lane and Shelley. He spent many years working at Fabros sawmill. After that he drove logging truck and then hauled chips as an owner/operator retiring in 2021.
Larry’s dry sense of humor and stubborn nature often brought laughter and a bit of mischief into every room he entered. His love of horses and bears was only rivaled by his love for family and friends.
Larry leaves behind his wife Gail Tanner, children Kevin (Linda), Lane (Val) and Shelley (John). Grandchildren Derek, Colby, Karissa, Ryan, Katie, Yvette, and Rodrick. As well as Brother Ron, and Tim, Sisters Lois, Carol and Debbie and many nieces and nephews. His memory will be carried with love by all that knew him.
Larry was predeceased by his Father Louis Tanner, Mother Mary Tanner, brothers William Tanner and Patrick Tanner.
There will be a Tea in Larry’s honor at his daughter’s home at 108 River Drive Cranbrook, BC on August 16th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Come and share your stories.
