Obituary of Linda “Willow” Rose Martz

Linda “Willow” Rose Martz

It is with incredible sadness and deep despair that we share the tragedy of Willow’s accidental death on February 11, 2026, at the age of ten, in Edgewater, British Columbia.

Willow was the centre of her mom’s universe. She had a deep passion for helping animals, especially dogs or pups needing care. Willow’s light would shine so brightly anytime she was riding her horse, Trooper.

Willow’s aspiration was to be a dog trainer one day, and she imagined herself riding and competing in barrel racing. Willow’s friends were a very important part of her life. She was a fighter and protector for all those she loved.

We will forever miss Willow’s lively and veracious sense of humour, along with her unique ability to call a spade a spade. Even though Willow was only ten, it was like talking with a twenty year old when discussing the topics of our world.

Willow’s fearlessness was a big part of her distinct nature, and this little warrior will be held forever in our hearts.

Lone Dog

I’m a lean dog, a mean dog, a wild dog alone.

A rough dog, a tough dog, a-hunting on my own.

I love to sit and bay the moon,

And keep fat souls from sleep.

I’ll never be a lapdog – cringing for my meat.

Willow leaves behind all those who love her; paws, hands and hooves.
