Obituary of Manon Hamel
Manon Hamel (Dufresne) of Canal Flats, BC passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 at Joseph Creek Care Home in Cranbrook. She was born July 31, 1949 in Waterloo, QUE to the late Leo-Paul and Gertrude DuFresne.
After moving to Canal Flats in the early 70’s, Manon became an active member of her community. From her early years of running the local restaurant in town to being a welcome face for guests at Fairmount Hot Springs; then moving on to her most rewarding job as care giver for two young girls.
Manon had a love for dolphins, cooking, gardening and snow birding. When she was not baking, you could find her outside enjoying the sun with a good book and a glass of red wine.
Manon was preceded in death by her parents, Leo-Paul and Gertrude and brother, Serge.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Jean-Guy; son, Steve and his wife Samantha.
No service will be held at this time. All who wish to honor Manon are invited to hang a hummingbird feeder at their home.
