Marion BARCLAY
Marion Eileen Barclay, passed on December 6, 2023. She was born on July 14, 1929, in Tide Head, New Brunswick, to Bevan and Flora Poley, one of seven children. There she met her husband Thomas Lorne Barclay (deceased). Work opportunities lead them to live in Labrador and Ft. McMurray, Alberta, where Marion worked for Athabasca Realty, an arm of Great Canadian Oil Sands (Suncor Energy Inc).
Upon retiring she and her husband moved to Parksville, British Columbia. There she was active in the United Church, Rock Club, and Bridge Clubs while also enjoying working in the yard tending to her many rhododendron plants and travelling.
During the last 3 years Marion moved to Fernie, BC to be closer to family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (Ron) Sands, of Anchorage, Alaska, Joan (Hugh) Furber of Ft. McMurray, Alberta, and Heather (Walter) Ingram of Fernie, British Columbia, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Marion will be cremated and burial will be held at a later date.
