Obituary of Marjorie Lorraine Lundell

Marjorie Lorraine Lundell (nee McKenzie)

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Lundell announces her passing on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 88 years of age. Marjorie was born in Eden, Manitoba on December 4, 1936.

Marjorie loved her family and friends, dogs, (especially Beagles), Bingo, gardening and chit – chatting on the phone. She was an avid traveller in her earlier days, exploring Europe, Mexico on a moped, and even the Grand Canyon on a mule. She liked “scratch and wins”, (which she rarely won), slot machines, (which she rarely won), needlepoint and reading Harlequin Romance paperbacks. When it came to coffee, Marjorie must be in the Coffee Hall of Fame. It was her first request every morning and she continued until bedtime. She was perfectly content to warm up a cold, forgotten cup in the microwave and keep going.

She was a registered nurse who worked in the Extended Care Unit in Cranbrook, helping others. Her quality of life had diminished in recent years, due to dementia. Before her illness, she was loving, kind and understanding. We were lucky to have her as a mother. She was loved and will be missed. It’s just starting to sink in that talking to her about anything and everything is no longer an option. Sigh. Time flies. Hug your loved ones.

Marjorie is survived by son Scott, grandchildren David and Jeffrey, son Duncan, son Brad (Kimberley Munro), grandchild Brandon (Meghan Rockman) and great grandchildren, Kairi and Jace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hartley, her daughter, Lori, father Reverand John David, mother Christina, brother Hugh sister Ruth and nephew David.
