Mickey was predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Jim Stahl and Grace Stahl (nèe Schoor) and her beloved husband, Bill Phillips, whom she absolutely adored.
Mickey was a kind, passionate, generous person who greatly influenced the lives of those around her. She loved to sing and dance and brightened any space she was in.
Over the span of many years, Mickey worked as an accomplished hairdresser, owning and working out of her own salons. Mickey became an instructor at the first hairdressing school in Cranbrook, B.C. and worked for many years developing the hairdressing program in Cranbrook.
Mickey had an incredible love of animals, the outdoors, and all nature had to offer. During the course of her life she cared for many dogs, cats, horses, birds, and even a monkey!
She raised and showed Pomeranians for many years, attending numerous dog shows and winning many awards.
Mickey loved to ride horses. From the time she was a little girl, Mickey spent countless hours in the saddle. Be it on cattle drives or just to get out and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, Mickey was most at home on the back of a horse.
Mickey was an avid bird watcher and could sit for hours naming each type of bird. The feeders at her house, like her heart, were always full.
Mickey’s family would like to thank the staff at Kootenay Street Village for all of the support and care they provided Mickey.
A special thanks to all of the family and friends who went above and beyond to ensure Mickey lived her best life.
In accordance to her wishes there will be a private service at a future date, to be determined.
