Obituary of Peter William Manahan

Peter William Manahan

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Peter William Manahan. Peter was born on April 15, 1943, in Trail, British Columbia, and passed peacefully at home in Wasa, on August 15, 2025 with his loving children by his side.

Peter was a skilled instrument mechanic and worked industrial construction all over Canada. He worked at the Granduc Mine near Stewart, British Columbia, to Wabush, Labrador, and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Peter loved to camp, fish, and hunt with his family and many friends. More recently he could be found puttering around his yard and shop and always had many projects on the go.

Peter leaves with so many good memories left for his loving family, and is survived by his wife Susan, daughters Ruth Fischer (Don Pearson), and Heather Manahan, sons Richard Norton (Tanya), and John Norton (Shirley). Peter was a proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren – with one more on the way. Also left to remember the good times are his cousins, Vesta Crewe (Jim), Roy Wright (Delaina), Norman Barbour, and Stanley (Anna) Panton.

There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Peter’s memory to the Wasa Lions Club.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Nash and Dr. Schieman for their medical attention and support of Peter. We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Nurse Vickie and the homecare teams who visited the house to care for Peter.
