Obituary of Raymond Everet Jensen
Raymond Everet Jensen
Ray passed away peacefully with family at his side after a long battle with chronic COPD.
Raymond was born in Kimberley, B.C. on January 10,1944, to Maurice and Patricia(Queenie) Jensen.
Raymond met the love of his life, Donna Bernice Cotnoir and they were married on August 4,1967. They were blessed with three children, Raelene, Kevin, and Tammy, and resided in Marysville for many years.
Raymond (Ray), or as many of his family and friends referred to him as Hyper Ray or Ray J grew up loving horses, working hard, and loving the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. Ray started working at a young age as a ranch hand at the JP Ranch near Skookumchuck, B.C. From there he moved on to become a heavy equipment operator for the next 30 years working for Cominco at the Sullivan Mine until it`s closure in 2001. After a brief retirement Hyper Ray could not sit still and went to work for BA Blacktop in Cranbrook for a few years, and then finished out his working years as a Park Operator for B.C. Parks in his old stomping grounds of Wasa and area. Finally retired for a second time and went back to enjoying the great outdoors, quadding and hunting with his best friend Robin and pals. A few years ago, Ray reconnected with his old friend Brian and the two of them could be found on the backroads chasing deer followed by lunch and a cold one at the Wasa Pub. His last year was spent living at the Fred.Scott Rotary Villa where he spent his time feeding and photographing the wildlife in his backyard and watching the creek flow by. He will be missed by the deer, the ducks, community cat( Buttons) , and acquaintances he made while living there. He will especially be missed by his family.
Ray is survived by his two daughters, Raelene Atwood (Gerry), Tammy Richmond (Kevin), six Granddaughters, Amanda(Ryan), Brianna(Damian), Kalista, Sieanna(Todd), Shelby(Dylan), Marissa(Kade) and seven Great Grandchildren that he loved deeply. He is also survived by his two sisters, Maureen Anderson and Tracy Winegarden(Harry), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
