Obituary of Raymond Frank Griffiths

Raymond Frank Griffiths

DECEMBER 20, 1922 – MARCH 18, 2021

We are sad to announce our dear dad passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Raymond was born in England to Theresa and David Griffiths. He had five sisters: three of whom are predeceased, Pat, Miriam and Jean. Two surviving sisters Alth and Margaret who still reside in England, he has nephews and nieces who are also residing in England.

Dad had joined to RAF as a young lad and fought during World War II. He ended up stationed in Penhold. He fell in love with the mountains and vowed he would live near them one day and that is why we came to Cranbrook. Raymond will be remembered for his storytelling, quick wit, loyalty, kindness the twinkle in his eyes and his joy to have a good laugh and his love of God and family. He is now in the arms of the Lord and with our loved ones who journeyed onward before him.

Raymond was predeceased by his Loving Wife Inga.

He is survived by daughters: Christine Griffiths (Al J.), Donna Griffiths, Faye McLellan; son Dennis Griffiths (Linda); grandchildren; Deanna, Julie, Carmen, David, Karla, Krista, Tanya, Andrea, Carie, Jayme, and David M, 19 great grandchildren (two of whom predeceased dad); and 4 great, great grandchildren.

We would like to thank all the nurses and Doctors at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital who he had nothing but great admiration for.

Service is pending due to restrictions.

In lieu of flowers family would appreciate donations to Cranbrook Royal Canadian Legion.
