Obituary of Ronald James Syme
Ronald James “Rick” Syme
With heavy hearts we announce the loss of our cowboy- a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, and friend. He lived a life that most people only ever hear about in stories. He worked at the Gang Ranch as a wrangler, breaking in wild horses and riding the kind of country that shapes a person into something unforgettable.
He was a pilot, truck driver, water well driller, crane operator, and a man who could fix anything, calm anyone, and make you laugh even on your worst day. He was tough in all the ways that mattered, but he was also gentle, kind, and genuinely funny. People loved him everywhere he went- not because he tried, but because he simply was that person. Honest, humble, and real.
There will never be enough words to express what he meant to us or to all who knew him. The world feels different without him in it, and our family feels the ache of that loss deeply. Rest easy cowboy, you’ll always be ours.
With love, your family.
Rick was predeceased by his parents Jim Syme and Margaret Syme, and his brother Larry Syme.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Judy, children Taya (Chad), and Lane (Stephanie), grandchildren Rebekah, Maacah, Malachi, Micah, Katana, Josiah, as well as four nephews and a niece.
A private family celebration will be taking place.
