Theodorus Hendrikus Walta

Theo Walta passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2025, in Invermere, British Columbia, surrounded by his close family. Born on November 16th, 1964, in Sittard, Limburg, Theo lived a happy life with his family and friends that was devastatingly cut short after an ongoing battle with lung cancer. He is remembered as a hardworking and incredibly caring man that was always looking out for his community and those around him, doing whatever he could to make people smile.

Theo was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is forever remembered and survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Mariska Walta, his three sons, Travis Walta and his partner Jada Mix-Kozak, Trevor Walta, and William Walta, his mother Louise Walta, his father Theodorus Walta, his older sister, Sandra Walta, her partner Roger Janssen and their children Rick Janssen and Michelle Janssen, his younger sister Silvia Devoi, her partner Edwin Devoi and their daughter Gwen Devoi. Theo also leaves behind many close friends and colleagues that cherished him deeply.

Theo’s legacy will forever live on in the countless happy memories of those he touched with his endless kindness and laughter, and all those who were blessed to have known him.

The Walta family will be announcing a date and location for Theo’s celebration of life at a later time.
