It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Uwe Franz Brockel, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017.

Uwe was born on Friday July 13,1956 in Hamburg, Germany. He came to Canada at age 11 when the family immigrated, and after stops in Winnipeg, MB and Lanigan, SK, they finally settled in Sparwood. Uwe completed his schooling at Sparwood Secondary School and then went on to take his trade training as a millwright and machinist. After working at RB Steel for a few years, he opened his own business, Sparwood Machine Shop. He took great pride in delivering the best service to his clients and customers and he was renowned for being an extraordinary machinist. He retired at age 58.
