Arts on the Edge launches in style
Kimberley’s Gallery at Centre 64 was once again the launching pad of the annual Arts on the Edge on Sunday, August 7.
With artists and dignitaries on hand, the annual festival of arts opened with an adjudicated open regional exhibition for established and emerging artists.
And once again, artists from Kimberley and surrounding areas presented an incredible array of diverse artistic talent, with judges selecting the top pieces and festival opening guests selecting their favourite works. To discover which artists’ works were judged as the finest in the exhibition, please head to Centre 64 and check out the difficulty the judges faced in paring down favourites.
Arts on The Edge culminates this upcoming Saturday, August 13, with another day of family entertainment at Coronation Park.
Highlighting this year’s festival are performances by great local performers like Holly and Jon, Heather Gemmell, 60 Hertz, along with the acclaimed Andrews Sisters tribute, Company Jump, and folk-soul entertainer Ingrid Gatin.
According to artsontheedge.ca, “Arts on the Edge strives to support and promote the Kimberley arts community and to offer opportunities for artists and performers from across our region to interact with and learn from one another. “
