Arts Station Lantern Festival returns

River on Fire 1Coming this November 22 is the biennial Arts Station Lantern Festival!

The theme this year is Northern Lights continuing in the tradition of 2010’s Art on Fire and 2012’s River on Fire.

We have already begun busily planning and have many fantastic ideas in the works.

We will once again be working with local schools as well as offering the popular ‘Community Builds’ evenings at The Arts Station.

River on Fire 51During these evenings in October and November, people of all ages are encouraged to come and make a lantern that they can either use themselves at Northern Lights or leave behind and we will incorporate it into a larger lantern installation.

Community Builds are by donation and all the supplies and instruction you will need to create something amazing will be available.

The Lantern Festival is a fantastic way to welcome winter with the glow of creativity and is an event that has something for everyone from grommets to grandparents.

River on Fire 62Northern Lights will take place in Station Square and at The Arts Station from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will be featuring lantern installations from local artists as well as a light parade, entertainment, fire spinning, art and of course, hot chocolate and fireworks to cap off this ethereal evening!

Please keep your eyes open for postings on when the Community Builds are taking place, lantern installations information, and many other details as they arise.
