ARTworks running this Sunday

The Arts Station is pleased to be able to host the first annual ARTworks Fundraiser for Visual Arts Programming. So if you have a piece of art collecting dust in your attic or on your mantel and want to change it out for something new and exciting than ARTworks is the event for you!

You have the option of either donating your pieces to The Arts Station for sale OR let us do the selling for you for a small percentage of the sale price (you get 85% and The Arts Station gets 15%).  Any and all forms of expression are welcome – prints, originals, pottery, textiles or fibres, photography, sculpture and so on.

The ARTworks sale is on Sunday, August 7 with item drop-off happening throughout the week. All pieces can be dropped off at The Arts Station.

If you have any questions please contact Courtney at 250-423-4842 or at [email protected]. So get going on cleaning out your space and putting up a new, inspiring piece that you can admire for years to come!

Shannon Kelly – Earth. Sky. Spirit.

Working on several bodies of work simultaneously Shannon Kelly’s style of painting is experiential. Beginning without a plan or picture and allowing the painting to develop organically creates series of works that represent a part of who Shannon is and each painting is a piece of that story. The SPIRIT paintings are evocative and surreal and are metaphysical in nature, this is reflected in the multiple layers of paint and hidden meanings. The SKY paintings are peaceful, airy and serene, a perfect escape. The wide open skies provide a place for the mind to be still.

The EARTH series represents the outer world and plays with elements of nature. Shannon will have paintings from all three of the series at her amazing exhibit at The Arts Station.

We (Heart) Art! Kids Art Contest

The Arts Station is pleased to be hosting its first Kids Art Contest on Sunday, August 28. Kids aged 5 to 11 are encourraged to submit art in any genre showing us what you love!
