Cheesecake Burlesque Revue appearing at McKim Theatre April 21
The Kimberley Arts Council – Centre 64 is in the second stage of the Building Expansion and Renovation project. The first phase of the project was completed last May when the purchase of the property required for the expansion was concluded. The fundraising for the next stage has already started with the Steppin’ Out Dancers donating $5,000 and $600 from Ingrid Liepa – The Connecting Link.
The next major fund raiser by KAC-C64 building Expansion committee is scheduled for April 21 at McKim Theatre when The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue will hit the stage.
The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue keeps audiences coming back for more! More laughs, more tease and more body confidence. The Cheesecakes are multiple award winners who have shimmied across stages in Las Vegas, Vancouver, Berlin, Seattle and Victoria to name a few. With influences from cult classics like Priscilla Queen of The Desert to Broadway favourites like Guys and Dolls to imaginative roller coasters like their original Cheesecakes In Space, these girls know how to put on the modern day show-stopper! The performers are as individual as the stars on the walk of fame – cute, geeky, rock n roll, classic, and elegant – audiences can’t help but have a favourite or two or three! The Cheesecakes are known for their high energy acts, stand out performers, comedic timing, seductiveness and girl-next door accessibility.
The dance troupe is from Victoria and is on a tour through the East Kootenay performing in Golden on Friday, Kimberley on Saturday and in Fairmont Hot Springs for a workshop on Sunday. They played to a sell out crowd last year in Invermere.
In conjunction with the show, local restaurants are partnering with KAC to provide a dinner before the show. There are three levels of packages all consist of dinner, complimentary glass of wine, HST and gratuity, visit by the dancers, ticket for the show and preferred seating at the theatre.
Restaurants taking part in the project are the Village Bistro, The Old Bauernhaus, The Gasthaus, Mozart Inn, Chef Bernard’s and the Burrito Grill and have tickets available.
An income tax receipt will be issued for a donation to Kimberley Arts Council – C64.
Tickets and information are available at Centre 64. The tickets for the Revue alone are available at Black Bear Books & Video, Lotus Books and Centre 64.
