Country star Dean Brody coming home

On January 27, 2013 at Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre, Jaffray’s own Dean Brody and his band will bring his ‘Dirt Tour’ to the stage.

The show is part of an extensive cross-Canada tour to promote, and celebrate his latest best-selling album ‘Dirt,’ 2012 CCMA winner of Album of the Year and Male Artist of the Year.
Brody’s rise to fame is a story of guts and determination. He grew up in Jaffray and took his first job at age 15 at the local sawmill. While it was tough, it helped set the tone for what would become a much tougher gig down the line, his struggle to make a living as a singer-songwriter.
Brody has become one of Canada’s biggest and brightest stars, most recently performing at halftime in Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium, for close to 40,000 football fans.

To date Dean has won three CCMA awards, 2011 Single of the year, Album of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year and a coveted Juno nomination for Country Album of the year. This past weekend at the 2012 CCMA’s Brody won two categories and was nominated in seven categories including single of the year, Video of the Year, Songwriter of the Year for Canadian Girls, and Album of the Year for Dirt. In addition Brody was nominated for the Fan’s Choice Award, Male Vocalist of the Year Award and Interactive Artist of the Year. This year, Brody performed at the ceremony with the likes of Johnny Reid, Terri Clark, Miranda Lambert, Paul Brandt and many more.

Tickets go on sale Friday, September 14 at the Key City theatre box office or book your tickets by phone at 250-426-7006. The first show on January 27 is expected to sell out very quickly so a second show has already been added and is available for January 28 at the Key.

Due to a play stage set, only 525 seats are available for each of these two shows, so one is advised to get your tickets early to welcome home singer-songwriter Dean Brody with his 2013Dirt Tour.
