Family First Night Dec. 31

A special family evening is being planned to welcome 2014 to Cranbrook.

Community Connections Society of Southeast BC is organizing the special event called Family First Night Cranbrook – Countdown for a Cause, taking place on Tuesday, December 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Western Financial Place and the Cranbrook Curling Rink.

This event is equivalent to a New Year’s Eve celebration with the emphasis that it is family-friendly.

Community Connections Society of Southeast BC is a non-profit organization that has been providing family-oriented programs and services to Cranbrook and the rest of the East Kootenay Region since its incorporation in 1982. The Family First Night event will be a great addition to what Community Connections has already accomplished in the community.

Family First Night Cranbrook – Countdown to a Cause will be an annual event for Cranbrook residents to enjoy.

In its inaugural year, Family First Night Cranbrook will feature open swimming, open skating, face painting, The Photo Booth, dancing (compliments of Just Music), story time, crafts, carnival games, live entertainment and food. This event will be provided for residents and their guests to enjoy, for a minimal cost ($5/person, maximum of $25 per family and aged three and under free) thanks in part to the generous donations from sponsoring businesses and organizations. There are also special rates for those families/individuals how have the Leisure Program Access Card.

First Night Cranbrook will allow families the opportunity to celebrate the New Year responsibly and in a safe environment. It is also an opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children and take some time together out of their busy workweek.
