The Fernie Mountain Film Festival, now in its sixth year is dedicated to filmmakers who spark awareness of mountain cultures, fragile environments, and the passion and perseverance of global explorers.

Located in Fernie, this small town festival is growing year on year and is one the many highlights of winter in Fernie. Spread across three evenings in the Fernie Community Centre, it’s the perfect chance to see a great variety of films, kicking off with Local’s Film night on Thursday Feb. 23 at 7 p.m., the opening of the main festival Friday the 24th at 7 p.m., followed with the free Kid’s Fest Saturday Feb. 25 at 5 p.m., with the closing of the festival at 7p.m.
