Fifth Reel Canadian Film Fest set to stun

Get ready to celebrate the Canadian Film-making industry at the fifth annual Reel Canadian Film Festival.

The Organizing Committee is thrilled to showcase five stunning Canadian Films as well as offer National Film Board shorts for the kiddies. This year we have decided on Halifax for our ever-popular film shorts screenings ‘Focus On’ city. Bookending all of these stunning feature films and amazing shorts is an opening gala and closing reception.

New this year is People’s Choice Sunday! Why leave all of the fun of programming the festival to us? Here is your chance to have a say and vote on what two movies you want to watch on Sunday, March 31. Simply visit www.reelfilmfest.ca, watch the trailers and vote for any two of Blackbird, Lunarcy, Revolution, and Stories We Tell.

We are also very pleased to be welcoming Sean Garrity to the Reel Canadian Film Festival. Sean is the director of My Awkward Sexual Adventure and will be in attendance as his film opens the festival on Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m. Sean will also be available at 9 p.m. at the Central Local House for the festival gala where he will be available to answer questions, shake hands and much more!

The Reel Canadian Film Festival is an off-shoot of The Arts Station’s Indie Films Fernie series. Inspired by the popularity of this series, a dedicated group of volunteers embarked upon creating a festival that would have a more specific focus, Canadian films, and that celebrates the dedication, skill, talent and diversity within the Canadian film industry.

Festival Passes and Opening Night tickets are available at The Arts Station or online at www.theartsstation.eventbrite.com. For a complete schedule and more info please visit www.reelfilmfest.ca.
