Grand Seduction at Vogue
The Grand Seduction (2013) is a Canadian comedy set in the small harbour community of Tickle Head, Newfoundland.
The town has an opportunity to create jobs through the opening of a new petrochemical factory, but before the factory can open they require a resident doctor (which the town has been trying unsuccessfully to woo for eight years). Through a series of coincidences Dr. Lewis, a young doctor, agrees to live in the town for one month. The town arranges the ‘seduction’ of Dr. Lewis into a long-term contract with a range of kind, misguided, and funny antics to encourage the doctor to stay in town. The film is a heart-warming and charming tale of a 120 terrible liars seeking one experienced doctor.
The Grand Seduction is playing Monday, September 8 at 7 p.m. at Fernie’s Vogue Theatre.
