The Life of Leo Grillmair, Mountaineer
One of the Columbia Valley’s more accomplished legends resides in Brisco. He is Leo Grillmair.
If you are unfamiliar with Leo, do yourself a favour and head to Invermere’s Pynelogs Cultural Centre on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m. and watch ‘Nine Lives Would Not Do – The Life of Leo Grillmair Mountaineer.
The film tells stories from his childhood in 1930s Austria to the creation, with Hans Gmoser, of Canadian Mountain Holidays, the world’s first heli-skiing company.
