Madison Violet playing Arts Station Nov. 22
Come support homegrown talent, Madison Violet, and celebrate the release of their latest album ‘The Good in Goodbye’ at The Arts Station on Tuesday, November 22 at 8 p.m.
Both hailing from Scottish small towns in Canada, Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac have gone against the grain of their local Celtic upbringing and have chosen an alternate musical path. This direction channels their parent’s vintage record collection, comprised of legends, such as, Neil Young and Dolly Parton. The pair has come into a sound of their own through which has been described as both city-folk and Americana.
Madison Violet has toured their alt-country/ modern-roots sound and flawless harmonies across the world for over 10 years under a few different names. They have been nominated for handfuls of East Coast Music Awards, were named ‘Best Vocal Group’ at the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Awards and were the Grand Prize winners of the 2010 John Lennon Song Writing Contest. Their first album ‘No Fool For Trying’ was nominated for a 2010 Juno and their most recent, just released this past September, is nothing short of beautiful.
