Mount Baker Wild Theatre enters new stream with Urinetown

Urinetown the Musical is barreling into Key City Theatre in less than a month, and it’s time you bought yourself a ticket.

UrinetownInsetIt’s funny, it’s loud, it’s gripping, and you’ll be on the edge of your seat from the moment the figurative curtain goes up. But how funny can a musical about toilet business be? Just ask any 13-year-old boy, and you’ll understand. But more than that, the show is a study of modern economic, and environmental issues. Indeed, the show is first-rate entertainment for people from all walks of life.

As the countdown moves steadily forward, the cast is growing increasingly excited to be premiering a show like Urinetown in Cranbrook. It’s something new and fresh, and it’s a decidedly bold step for Mount Baker Wild Theatre.

The community has been coming to see Mount Baker shows for decades; are they ready for Urinetown? Our answer is “yes; we think they are.”

Urinetown is something that speaks to many every day concerns, and a few global ones, and if the material is as funny as we say it is, people will sit up and take notice.

The dance numbers are energetic, the dialogue is witty, and the music will have your toes tapping.

The story of Bobby Strong, the young urinal custodian with a dream, is one that anybody can root for – even a CEO. It’s a show that would be a crime to miss, and we’re going to great lengths to make sure that the people come out to see what we’re cooking up. The green door, in fact, will cater our opening night, and we’re welcoming the audience to stay about after the show to enjoy the food.

Running from May 8 to May 11 at the Key City Theatre, Urinetown the musical is a comical satire of big business, unrequited love, and the mystery of the john. It’s a show that’ll make you think, make you laugh, and make you glad you picked up a ticket. Bring your whole family; they’ll thank you. Urinetown the Musical: Honestly.
