Poetry and prose to grace the garden

They say the pen is more powerful than the sword, and perhaps more graceful as well.

For the first time ever, the Festival of the Arts is celebrating the spoken word, and doing it in style.  On the evening on August 7, the Kimberley Arts Council is hosting a garden party in the lovely garden to the side of Centre 64. This event will focus on the spoken word with performances by a number of local spoken word artists.

If food for your mind isn’t enough to compel you to join us then perhaps strawberries and chocolate or the host bar including champagne will be.  All of this sophistication will be topped off by a solo flute performance by the immensely talented Laurel Ralston.

The event will start at 7:30 p.m. in the garden, located on the left hand side of Centre 64.  Seating is limited to 50 people and tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Centre 64 during our normal business hours 1-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Tickets are sure to go quickly, so get yours in advance!
