Shortbread Showdown aims to help Fernie Food Bank

It wouldn’t be the holidays if we didn’t throw some baking in the mix!

The CP Holiday Train has already rolled on by and Fernie did not disappoint and were just as generous as ever giving to the Food Bank Canada.

This time around, The Fernie Food Bank and The Arts Station are asking Fernie residents to support our own friends and neighbours that are in need on this coming holiday season on Sunday, December 18 at the Shortbread Showdown!

Go to The Arts Station between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. where you will be able to sample shortbread cookies galore from lots of local bakers but that’s not even the real beauty of it.  After you taste and test all of the cookies, you vote on which baker you think baked the best batch by putting money into the jar that will be next to your dessert of choice and all of the proceeds go to the Fernie Food Bank.

Are you more of a turkey enthusiast over a cookie eater during the holidays?  Well, all the more reason to get baking!  There is no limit to the number of people that can enter their delectable treats so give the Arts Station a call at 423-4842 to let them know you are ready for a the showdown of season.

If you have any questions at all about the event, don’t hesitate to contact The Arts Station at 250-423-4842 or send an email to info@theartsstation,com.
