Steel Magnolias celebrates salon culture
Make a date with your best girl friends for Wednesday, November 21 to check out Cranbrook Community Theatre’s production of Steel Magnolias on our special Salon Night.
Steel Magnolias is a story of love and loss, joy and pain, and friendship that takes place in a hair salon. For most ladies getting their hair done is ‘me’ time; a chance to escape the report that’s due tomorrow morning, the pile of laundry that needs to be folded, or the age old question of “what’s for dinner?” Salons are truly a place of escape.
CCT is celebrating these special places by hosting a ‘Salon Night’ at the Stage Door on Wednesday, November 21. We’re asking audience members to bring a business card from their favourite hair salon. They’ll put their name on the back of the card and drop it into a draw box. We’ll draw for two prizes: the winning audience member will receive a CCT patron’s membership. The winning hair salon will receive a CCT patron’s membership and a box of Sweet Gestures chocolates.
Steel Magnolias runs Nov 16-17, 21-24, and Nov 28-Dec 1. Tickets are available at Lotus Books.
After Steel Magnolias CCT is proud to present It’s a Wonderful Life –opening Dec 7 followed by Enchanted April –April 2013. CCT’s production of Our Town will now be presented in May 2014.
CCT has been entertaining Cranbrook and area audiences for over 50 years. We strive to promote and develop local talent; on stage, behind the scenes, or in the director’s chair. CCT believes theatre, music, dance, and art play an important part in the community. We are pleased to call the Studio/Stage Door home.
