Windermere Fall Fair & Scarecrow Festival Sunday
The 13th annual Windermere Fall Fair & Scarecrow Festival is this Sunday, September 15, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Windermere Community Hall and Windermere Elementary School field.
The fair is always a lively event, with dozens of vendors offering fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, arts and crafts, information and much more, including plenty of yummy munchies.
Inside the hall, festival organizers present the fall fair winners, with all sorts of artistic and green-thumbed endeavours being rewarded and showcased.
And then there is the colourful Scarecrow Festival, where participants enter a hilarious and creative variety of homemade scarecrows. Some would scare the feathers off crows while others would simply get swarmed and pecked to pieces.
Rounding out the family event is a variety of games, plenty of fun for the kids, live music and if the weather holds, as it usually does at this time of the year in the valley, expect the Windermere Fire Department to provide some watery and foamy fun.
