Bootcamp offered succinct views on commercialization
The Commercialization Bootcamp held at St. Eugene Resort March 14, by Kootenay Rockies Innovation Council (KRIC), offered a day of in-depth and succinct views shared by industry professionals, aimed at making the start-up of a new business/product easier.
Among the topics covered in the six plus hour ‘bootcamp,’ attended by about 45 people, was an overview on commercialization, market research, how to protect intellectual property/patents (copyright, trademarks etc.), overviews of tax credit programs, shared experiences and plenty of informal networking.
KRIC, according to its website, is “edicated to fostering a culture of innovation as well as the development of science and technology in the East Kootenay, the Kootenay Rockies Innovation Council (KRIC) is a non-profit society that provides programming and events targeted at businesses, communities and students/educators involved in science, technology and innovation.
