Bras & Briefs Art Parade at Tamarack Centre

This month, the Tamarack Centre is teaming up with the Canadian Cancer Society to kickstart Relay for Life in Cranbrook and Kimberley with the Bras & Briefs Art Parade. What’s a better way than having some fun and decorating your undergarments to show them off to the community?

According to Community Giving Coordinator Jenn Smith, “This creative and cheeky event is a fun way to launch and celebrate the upcoming 2014 Cranbrook/Kimberley Relay for Life. This event is open to everyone in the community, with all the proceeds going towards Relay For Life.

It’s a great way to recycle that bra with a broken strap or briefs that you just don’t like and let your creativity flow with a fun concept, theme or idea.”

Participants can join the fun for $5 per registered garment. Entries can be registered at the Tamarack Centre every Saturday from noon – 2 p.m. or contact Jenn Smith 250-426-8916. The public can vote anytime at the Tamarack Centre for their favourite design and creation.

Prizes will be awarded for public favorites, first, second and third place. As part of this event entries will be entered into a Silent Auction that will start on February 8 and close on February 15.

Smith adds, “On February 15, there will be a closing reception at the Tamarack Centre and everyone is invited to join us for treats and refreshments. We will be announcing the public favourites at 12:30 p.m. and the Silent Auction will close at 2 p.m.
