Kimberley’s new chamber GM says hello
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the members of the Kimberley Chamber of Commerce. My name is Mike Guarnery (pronounced gar-nair-ee) and I am excited to be selected to represent the Chamber and begin working for you in accomplishing the tasks set out before us.
My background includes 13 years of supporting employment-driven and economic development programming for the Ktunaxa Nation Council and Job Seekers, as well as being a current member of Community Futures East Kootenay’s Board of Directors. I am a past-president of the Kimberley Dynamiters Booster Club – and still a die-hard fan!
We are currently painting the new chamber office (253 Wallinger, between Trickle Creek Gallery & Gift and Go Fetch) and that will be consuming a bit of time for the first week. Upon completion, we will have “new” donated office furniture to move in, and then we’ll be up-and-running in a more functional manner by next week.
The Fee For Service contract we have with the City of Kimberley will be a strong focus for me. This will include performing a business survey with the results being a baseline of meaningful dialog about the business environment and how we can work as a collective organization to support and bolster business in Kimberley and the surrounding area.
Please feel free to stop in our office at your convenience, call me on my cell at (250) 427-4639, or email me at [email protected]
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to personally meeting with each of you.
Mike Guarnery
