Montana’s launched in conjunction with chamber gathering

Kimberley’s newest restaurant, Montana’s, at the base of the Kimberley Ski Hill, was officially launched Thursday, Oct. 20, during a Kimberley Chamber of Commerce Beverages and Business Cards gathering.

Dozens of Kimberley and area business owners, managers and staff took part in the two hour festivity, enjoying a sampling of Montana’s menu highlights, a few beverages and lots of catching up on how the summer went.

With a municipal election a month away, the event featured a healthier than normal dose of politicos, of the elected variety and those seeking office.

The event was highlighted by introductory speeches by Montana’s management.

The move from Kelsey’s, which occupied the location for 10 years, was based on market targeting, explained Kimberley Alpine Resort manager and Kimberley Chamber of Commerce Treasurer Ted Funston.

Montana’s menu, known for its variety of steaks, as well as its barbecued ribs, fits more into line with what Kimberley’s visiting and resident customers want in a dining experience, he said.

Topping off the evening was a photo opportunity with Montana’s ‘moose,’ an integral part of the image of the establishment, Funston said.

The chamber of commerce’s holds mix and mingle (Beverages and Business Cards) events every third Thursday of each month (with some exceptions), at different dining establishments.

Informal and informative, the events are perfect occasions for new business owners to meet contacts and community leaders, and the new owners are introduced to the gathered membership.
